Purpose: To measure the perceived honesty of a target individual.

Participants: 153 in Study 1 (66% women, 19.75 mean age, SD = 2.38), 200 in Study 3 (65.5% women, 19.73 mean age, SD = 2.0)

Mean Score: Study 3, 4.18 (SD = 0.63)

Alpha: Study 3, .88

Variance: Study 3, 62.97%

Convergent Validity: The Reysen Honesty Scale was significantly positively correlated with the Reysen Likability Scale (2005) and the Reysen Honesty Scale. Abraham Lincoln and O.J. Simpson were rated higher on expertise than a Young Priest and a Young Criminal. Attractive individuals were rated higher than unattractive individuals.

Divergent Validity: Low (but significant) negative correlations with the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale (Crowne & Marlowe, 1964).
