Purpose: To measure the perceived honesty of a target individual.

Participants: 154 in Study 2 (79.2% women, 19.62 mean age, SD = 2.88), 200 in Study 3 (65.5% women, 19.73 mean age, SD = 2.0)

Mean Score: Study 3, 4.21 (SD = 0.55)

Alpha: Study 3, .89

Variance: Study 3, 56.61%

Convergent Validity: The Reysen Honesty Scale was significantly positively correlated with the Reysen Likability Scale (2005) and the Reysen Expertise Scale. Abraham Lincoln and a Young Priest were rated significantly higher than O.J. Simpson and a Young Criminal.

Divergent Validity: Low (but significant) negative correlations with the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale (Crowne & Marlowe, 1964).

Notes: This scale is currently being tested again for divergent validity.
